General Science 101

Chemistry 101 is out and doing well! We were starting research for the next film, Physics 101, but had a major shift in the plans.

We see a much greater need for a broad introductory course that encompasses more of the sciences in the beginning levels of high school. As a result, General Science 101, is now in preproduction and will come before the physics course.

General Science 101 will touch on all the sciences and introduce students to the world of science as a whole. We are still early in the research phase but so far some of the the proposed topics include:
  • Earth Science (including meteorology and geology, seismology, paleontology, etc)
  • Space Science (astronomy, observational astronomy, rocket science)
  • Life Science (biology, plant science, medicine, etc)
  • Social Science (including theology, philosophy, political science and probably a section of forensic science too!)
and we plan on introducing
  • Formal Sciences (including computer science and logic)

Firstly, I would like to thank you deeply for the work you are doing and for the help you are providing to my family and others.

That said, I turn my attention to the new announcement about General Science 101 replacing the Physics 101 product in your production timeline. Clearly, the General Science 101 will be a welcome product! However, my genuine concern is that this new subject material may be best utilized by students who have yet to begin their studies in the Biology 101, Chemistry 101, and Physics 101 topic progression.

I suspect that there may be other families who might also feel that this new production timeline is a disappointing development. My reasoning is simply that General Science 101 would likely not serve the immediate need of those families with children who are already using your products, assuming that most students who are progressing from Biology 101 through Chemistry 101 would have been pleased to continue onto the Physics 101 series as the next, and possibly final, step in their science studies.

Please understand that I am sure that you did not come to this decision without much thought and prayer, but I would humbly submit that there may be value in reconsidering this new plan and, instead, finishing the series of the upper level courses, in traditional order, so as not to leave anyone currently using your products with no way to continue in the traditional progression.

I sincerely appreciate your consideration of the fact that, although there are families that will undoubtedly benefit from General Science 101, our family, and possibly others, would be much better served by the Physics 101 that you had originally slated for the next release.

Blessings and Thanks!

Hmmm.... This is a good point and we are going to consider your comments this week as we continue in the preproduction and research phase.

Thank you for your comments and we'll let you know our decision on which we will go forward with.

Thank you, Wes!

We are extremely grateful to hear that you have graciously taken our family’s opinion under thoughtful consideration.

We will continue to support you in prayer and look forward to hearing what you ultimately determine to be the next product in the production schedule!

Grace and Peace!

Our family agrees with the concerns of "Anonymous". We hope that you will prayerfully reconsider your production timeline and complete Physics 101 before General Science 101.
